-Introduction to Spanish
This course will provide you with:
- everyday phrases and vocabulary
- the realization that you already know a lot of Spanish, just by knowing
English
- a strategy to pronounce your words correctly in Spanish, so that
Spanish-speakers can understand you right away
- a set of very useful verbs in the present tense that will help you get
your ideas across - ¡pronto!
- the ability to express your likes and dislikes, your wants and your
needs
-Spanish I
By the time you finish this course you will be able to:
- describe events in the past, present and future
- have a firmer grasp of the idioms and vocabulary that are used in
everyday language
- describe and compare people and things
- polish your listening skills and continue improving your pronunciation
-Spanish II
In Spanish II the grammar, vocabulary and oral practice you acquired in
past courses will help you to:
- begin reading and writing more extensively
- take a more active part in conversations with native Spanish
speakers
- talk about things that you used to do, things you have done and
things you would like to do or could do.
Following these very significant accomplishments, we may let you:
- start giving orders in the classroom (imperative form)
-Spanish III
This course is an especially important one, because you will now be ready
to:
- order your classmates (and everyone else) around
- express your preferences, hopes and desires (subjunctive form)
- switch smoothly from one tense to another (almost second nature to
you at this point)
- read in Spanish for fun
- say almost anything that is on your mind with confidence
- impress your friends and relatives, if you haven't done so already!
